E.F.A. and the New Murney Lazier Field @ Memorial Stadium
After the game, there will be the first annual Evanston Football Alumni BBQ. All past coaches will be there -- don't miss out. Also, all E.F.A. will be recognized during the game.
What is the E.F.A.? Players from the past are teaming up to help rebuild the pride and tradition that was Evanston Football. All proceeds will go directly towards the Evanston Football Program.
Please RSVP via email cmccomas1@gmail.com or call Chris at 773 531 8048.

Save the Date 9-6-08
Evanston Football Alumni,
Save the date of September 6, 2008. This will be Evanston's opening game at the NEW Lazier Field and a perfect time to get together for OUR BBQ/fundraiser after the game.
All proceeds from this BBQ will be a direct donation to the Football program. It seems as the program has struggled in recent years, a sense of pride is lacking. Meeting with Evanston's AD, Chris Livatino, money from this BBQ could be used toward reinstalling a sense of excellence. For example, Mr. Livatino pointed to other programs that provide every varsity football player a carved wood sign that lists his name and number. The sign can be placed in the player's front yard or window. Another idea is to create a large plaque in the weight room that lists every Evanston football team that made it to the playoffs. The gist is -- show the kids of today the proud tradition that is Evanston football.
Currently, there isn't any money in the budget to allow the ideas above to come to life. TOGETHER we can change that. Your support can fund the ideas above and help rebuild pride back into a football program we were so proud to play for.
This BBQ can also help with The Lazier Field project. This summer the football field is being updated with a state-of-the-art surface.
THE FOOTBALL ALUMNI BBQ IS IN THE BEGINNING STAGES. YOUR HELP IS NEEDED. Please pass this email along. We also need people TO help with the organization of the BBQ.
Please pass this message along to teammates. We need to grow the list. Currently we're at 123...
Please let me know your thoughts.

An Idea
An annual fundraiser could enough money to reserve space in the Evanston Review and run a weekly profile (during the football season) for a player/coach of the Evanston Football program. You can see this in the Sun Times in the prep section. It asks their favorite class, what colleges they like, etc. This idea would be a grass roots effort that would give exposure to the program and reintroduce the team to the community. Also, I can imagine they're a bunch of 6th through 8th graders who would aspire to one day make the paper. I hear the teams have been thin during the past few years.
The cost of this ad space would be reasonable and attainable. In addition, if rules allow, I'm sure we could find local sponsors to pitch in. For example, EAC's (Evanston Athletic Club) Wild Kit Player/coach of the week.
This is just an idea that would create a buzz and get more kids interested in playing for a program what we were so proud to play for.
Please share your thoughts.

Let's Get Together
Yes, Dennis Mahoney is still writing for the Evanston Review.
Speaking with a number of former players, there is a lot of interest in coming together and helping this coach with the support of the players from the past.
This benefit would be a cross class product, the goal is to come together and raise money that would go directly into the Evanston Football program.
Coach Riehle is excited to help and will show his support.
The actual benefit hasn’t been determined, we’re at ground zero trying to build up interest. Please show your support and help add to the name below. We need help in getting the word out.
